Tuba Concerto Premiere

St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden

Saturday 15th June saw the premiere of my Concerto for Tuba, Strings and Percussion with the wonderful Mike Poyser as soloist. He nailed it fabulously and the band did a sterling job considering we only had 1 hour to rehearse with them. Sean and Malcolm on the percussion did particularly well, and there were lots of comments about how busy they were in it! And bullroarers spounds wonderful in a church acoustic, I discovered.

Audience seemed to really enjoy it. Favourite comments: ‘bonkers’ and ‘unexpectedly enjoyable’!
